Hillary Sings Her Champion Song ;)

Hillary Clinton keeps telling people, "I want to be your champion," so let's have her sing it in a song . . .

I Am Your Champion
Sing to the tune of We are the Champions by Queen.

I've paid my dues,
Now it’s my time.
I've dumped my server,
But committed no crime.
And bad mistakes ‒
I've made a few.
I've had my share of sand kicked in my face,
But I've come through.

(BILL: And yet she just goes on and on, and on, and on)

I’ll be your champion, my friends,
And I'll keep obfuscating 'til the end.
I am your champion.
You are just chumps, friends.
I’ll help you losers,
'Cause I am the champion,
Of the world.

I've taken big fees,
And big foreign hauls,
You brought me fame and fortune and everything that goes with it,
I thank you all.

But it's been no bed of roses,
No pleasure cruise.
I consider it a challenge before the whole human race,
And I ain't gonna lose.

(BILL: And yet she just goes on and on, and on, and on)

I’ll be your champion, my friends,
And I'll keep obfuscating 'til the end.
I am your champion.
You are just chumps, friends.
I’ll help you losers,
'Cause I am the champion,
Of the world.

I’ll be your champion, my friends,
And I'll keep campaigning 'til the end.
I am your champion.
You are just chumps, friends.
I’ll help you losers,
'Cause I am the champion.

150 Years Ago: Did John Wilkes Booth Get Away? Yes.

It was 150 years ago Sunday that Abraham Lincoln's assassin, John Wilkes Booth was killed. Or was he?

In the 2013 book John Wilkes Booth: Beyond the Grave, the author, W. C. Jameson, makes the amazing claim that Booth was not killed at Garrett's Farm in Virginia, 12 days after killing Lincoln, as all the history books tell the story.

Unfortunately, the book is not footnoted, but there is an extensive list of over 150 sources in the bibliography.

As a child, the author was told that Booth was a relative on his father´s side of the family and that there was a family tradition that Booth did not die as officially reported, but lived to be an old man. When Jameson grew up he decided to research whether this could be true.

He found out all the source records related to the capture and trial of the Lincoln assassination conspirators were sealed away for 70 years, so no histories written before 1935 would have the sources to question the official version.

Jameson makes a credible case that it was another man who was killed at Garrett´s Farm and it was covered up to look like Booth. Among the facts noted that cause him to claim this are the following.
  1. Booth was a healthly, well-fed 26 year old. The dead man as a skinny man in his forties.
  2. Booth had dark black hair and had shaved his mustache after killing Lincoln. The dead man had red hair and a full mustache.
  3. Booth had a broken left leg. The dead man had a broken right leg.
  4. The man captured with the dead man, David Herold, called the man that was killed by the name of Boyd, not Booth.
  5. The government allowed no one who knew Booth to view the body before it was buried. David Harold, who may have been able to tell people that the dead man was not Booth, was not allowed to testify at the trial of the conspirators and was hung with the rest of them.
  6. One photo of the dead man was taken and given to Secretary of War Edwin Stanton. It has never been found. The diary of John Wilkes Booth, found by detectives during the search for Booth, was also given to Stanton and was not used as evidence in the trial. When is was rediscovered a couple of years after the assassination, 18 pages were missing. Could it have included some information Stanton wanted to keep secret?
Some people claim that Stanton and other radical Republicans wanted to see Lincoln kidnapped by Booth so they could come up with impeachment plans while he was gone, with the goal of stopping Lincoln's plan to go easy on the post-war South. When Booth changed the kidnapping to an assassination, Stanton had to cover his tracks.

If you are a student of history, it is interesting to find out the the official version of history may often be false, or at least challenged.

Here are a few other examples were history may have gotten it wrong:

Franklin Roosevelt knew about the Japanese attack on Pearly Harbor in advance: Roosevelt's Advanced Knowledge of Pearl Harbor Attack

Franklin Roosevelt did not die of cerebral hemorrhage, but the end effects of brain cancer that started as skin cancer: 70 Year Cover Up - FDR Died of Cancer

This one is a stretch, but at least one author is making a claim that Adolf Hitler escaped from Berlin and lived in Argentina until the 1960´s. Grey Wolf: The Escape of Adolf Hitler.

TIME Magazine Disses Dave Ramsey

The current issue of TIME Magazine profiles it's 100 most influential people in the world. You would expect to see people like Barack Obama and Pope Francis. You should also expect to see someone like Dave Ramsey, the best know personal finance expert in the country.

Once again Ramsey has been left off the list.

This is not because TIME does not consider the area of personal finance to be important. Suzie Orman made the TIME list of most influential people a few years back.

In fact, this year's list includes "Financial Whiz" Mellody Hobson, cited for "deep commitment to improving financial literacy among moderate and low-income Americans."

Mellody who?

Exactly.

TIME negligently fails to recognize that Ramsey is far more influential than Hobson.

For example:

Google Dave Ramsey and you get nearly 18 million results. Google Mellody Hobson and you get 237,000 results. Ramsey gets 75 times as many results.

The website daveramsey.com has a Alexa US traffic rank of 2,538. Mellody Hobson has no Alexa traffic rating.

Five of the top 12 Budgeting and Money Management books on Amazon are written by Dave Ramsey. Mellody Hobson has 0 books on Amazon.

Only Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity have more radio listeners than Dave Ramsey. Mellody Hobson has no channel to "influentially" impact millions of Americans about financial literacy.

Mellody Hobson does have two qualifications that TIME likes: She is a woman and she is black.

Dave Ramsey is not going to lose any sleep because once again TIME has pretended he does not exist. However, it should be an embarrassment to TIME Magazine to so blatantly exclude from their list the most influential personal finance expert in modern America. TIME tries to position itself as a neutral news source, but when things like this happen, it reveals it true east coast liberal establishment core point of view.

Happy Earth Day! Climate Change Cure Worse Than Problem

Happy Earth Day.

I recently heard a climate change disciple claim that we should take action to fix climate change since 95% of scientists believe it to be true. He supported this by saying that if you had a child diagnosed with a serious illness by 95% of doctors, you would get it taken care of. The goal of this comparison is to get people to act all emotional and conclude, ¨I would never allow my child to go without medical attention to address a serious illness, so we must take action to address climate change.¨ Where this analogy fails is that the climate change doctors have a cure that is worse than the disease - the destruction of our free-market economy.

A better comparison is to ask yourself, would you get on an airplane that had a 95% chance of reaching its destination? I think I would pass. Americans can change their light bulbs and start driving electric cars, but since we only occupy 5% of the globe, our actions are pretty much futile. No wonder less than 40% of Americans buy the global warming Chicken Little argument.

I think P. J. O'Rourke said it best:

¨There's not a goddamn thing you can do about it. Maybe climate change is a threat, and maybe climate change has been tarted up by climatologists trolling for research grant cash. It doesn't matter. There are 1.3 billion people in China, and they all want a Buick. Actually, if you go more than a mile or two outside China's big cities, the wants are more basic. People want a hot plate and a piece of methane-emitting cow to cook on it. They want a carbon-belching moped, and some CO2-disgorging heat in their houses in the winter. And air-conditioning wouldn't be considered an imposition, if you've ever been to China in the summer.

¨Now I want you to dress yourself in sturdy clothing and arm yourself however you like - a stiff shot of gin would be my recommendation - and I want you to go tell 1.3 billion Chinese they can never have a Buick.

¨Then, assuming the Sierra Club helicopter has rescued you in time, I want you to go tell a billion people in India the same thing.¨

My advise is to stop wasting time on stuff you can't change and focus your efforts on the real climate change - let's work on making our culture less toxic and harmful to children and families.

Oklahoma City Bombing Cover Up - Iraqi Connection

Do you remember where you were 20 years ago on April 19, 1995 when the Murrah Federal Building was brought down by a fertilizer truck bomb?

You may recall initial reports said authorities were looking for two suspects, one white and one dark skinned. Within days this was changed to say that authorities were only looking for a white suspect.

In 2005 investigative journalist Jayna Davis wrote The Third Terrorist: The Middle East Connection to the Oklahoma City Bombing, an eye opening book claiming an Iraqi involvement in the tragic bombing.

Davis discovered that federal authorities were aware of the bombing plans prior to the tragedy. They were trying to run a sting. The operation got out of control and when the bomb went off, the feds had to cover their tracks so they would not be implicated. This was a few years after the mishandling of the Waco fiasco and the last thing the feds needed was an even greater mass killing that they had the where-with-all to stop.

On the day of the bombing early witnesses saw a Middle Eastern "John Doe #2" with bomber Tim McViegh. The FBI conducted a cover-up so that this side of the story remained buried. Not only was it embarrassing to the FBI, an Iraqi connection would create an international incident that President Clinton did not want to deal with. America would not react kindly to an attack by Sadam Hussein. It fit the government narrative better to blame the bombing on right wing extremists.

There are numerous disturbing revelations in Davis's book, including the professional cleaning of a suspicious vehicle by the FBI to prevent the discovery of evidence showing the existence of the mysterious Middle Eastern terrorist. Davis interviewed eyewitnesses and their statements to her were much different than what the FBI reported.

Even worse than mourning the loss of 168 innocent lives, is the fact that the government did a shoddy job with the investigation of the bombing and too many questions remain unanswered. Those who only know what has been officially reported don't know that too many facts have been buried or changed.

I'm no 9-11 truther, but the Oklahoma City bombing is one event where the generally accepted account of events is not telling the whole story.

Obama Meets Lincoln Joke

R

One night President Obama is woken up from his sleep by the ghost of George Washington. Figuring that it is a great opportunity to learn from the father of our country, Obama asks him for advice on how he can best serve his fellow Americans.

"Be honorable and honest, as I was," Washington tells Obama.

The next night President Obama is woken up by the ghost of Thomas Jefferson. Obama asks him for advice on how he can best serve his fellow Americans.

"Cut taxes and reduce the size of government, as I did," Jefferson tells Obama.

The next night President Obama is woken up by the ghost of Abraham Lincoln. Obama asks him for advice on how he can best serve his fellow Americans.

"Take the night off and go to the theater."

Just kidding! It's a joke. May Barack Obama live a long life (as an ex-president).

Help Mike Lee Stop Fiscal Child Abuse

T

Mike Lee wants to stop fiscal child abuse and he could use your help.

The term fiscal child abuse was coined by liberal economist Laurence Kotlikoff, to describe the Washington practice of spending money now and running up debts to be paid for by future generations.

Back in 1997, before Balance Budgeting Republican was an oxymoron, Newt Gingrich's congress passed a law to control the increase of Medicare costs. For the past 18 years, congress has regularly passed a "doc fix" bill to increase the rates paid to doctor. The original 1997 law helped keep health care cost inflation in check, but the "doc fix" restored these payments to the health care industry. To restore the payments to the doctors, Congress has had to cut spending elsewhere.

Now a new fix to "doc fix," recently passed by the House with Republican and Democrat support, is going to pay for two-thirds of the cost ($141 billion) by adding it to the debt. Mike Lee thinks this is a bad idea. He wants to pay for this by cutting spending elsewhere. When the bill comes to the Senate this week he is going to propose an amendment to require the $141 billion to be paid by spending cuts elsewhere, instead of another act of fiscal child abuse to add to the $18 trillion already dumped on our children and grandchildren.

Please contact your U.S. senators and ask them to support Mike Lee's amendment to the "doc fix" bill.

UPDATE: 4/15/2015 - from Daily Caller - Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee had introduced a potential amendment to the bill that would have subjected the bill to spending rules known as pay-as-you-go, which would have required the cost of the bill to be fully offset by spending cuts or tax increases. Lee’s amendment, which required 51 votes to pass, fell short at 42-58.

Once again the next generation will pay for our spending. Fiscal child abuse is a Washington value.

Mike Lee gives the details of his idea in this editorial.

70 Year Cover Up - FDR Died of Cancer

History tells us that Franklin Roosevelt died of a brain hemorrhage on April 12, 1945. This is most likely a lie. Here is what in all likelihood actually happened:

Franklin Roosevelt enjoyed the outdoors. As a result, it is not unusual that he developed a macule (change in skin color) above his left eye. Photos from the 1920’s show a very light discoloration but it was bigger and darker by the time he became president in 1933. It continued to grow and darken throughout the 1930s. This was a clear sign of melanoma, skin cancer, one of the most deadly forms of cancer.

Patients with melanoma are likely to see the cancer metastasize, especially to the abdomen and later the brain. Among those who die from melanoma, 60% had cancer in the bowels, and 90% have the cancer spread to the brain.

Someone with brain mestastase from melanoma is at high risk for brain hemorrhage.

Steven Lomazow, a board certified neurologist and his coauthor Eric Fettmann wrote a fascinating book in 2009 called FDR's Deadly Secret that makes a strong case the Franklin Roosevelt did not die from an out-of-the-blue brain aneurysm, but rather from a brain hemorrhage due to a brain tumor that grew from it's original melanoma.

Roosevelt in 1939 with lesion clearly visible

According to the book, on January 17, 1940 renowned cancer doctor Reuben Peterson wrote Roosevelt advising him that he should check the lesion over his left eye. Most doctors of the day did not recognize a lesion like Roosevelt's to be evidence of cancerous melanoma. At worst it might be precancerous. Hopefully, Roosevelt's doctors did a biopsy, but there is no record of it (more about that later). What we do know is that they took steps to reduce the size of the lesion. The photographic evidence is clear that beginning in 1940, the lesion was being operated on. For example, right after Roosevelt got Peterson’s letter, he left on a hastily announced cruise on the USS Tuscaloosa. During the voyage, photos where nearly all from the right side, so his left eye was not seen. He also wore sunglasses a lot which he normally did not do. We can guess that Roosevelt’s lesion was being treated, but it was likely already too late.

By early 1940, Franklin Roosevelt’s cancer had metastasized and it was only a matter of time before he would die from his condition.

In May 1941, the president complained of stomach pains and fatigue. Blood tests showed he had lost the equivalent of eight pints of blood at some point in the prior 14 months. His doctor concocted a story about bleeding hemorrhoids, but a better explanation was internal bleeding in his GI tract. While Roosevelt was bedridden in the White House, his press secretary made excuses that he was suffering from a minor intestinal ailment. The treatment, which remained secret from the public, was blood transfusions, at least eight of them through the summer. Lomazow and Fettmann believe they have found circumstantial evidence that the bleeding may have been caused by radiation treatment for prostate cancer. None of this was included in the recent PBS Ken Burns documentary on the Roosevelts.

By 1942 the lesion above Roosevelt's eye was gone, evidence doctors knew it might lead to skin cancer (and in fact already had).

Roosevelt 1942 with lesion removed.

In September 1943 his cousin Daisy Suckley recorded that Roosevelt was complaining of stomach pain that continued during the Tehran conference in November.

The next medical problem was identified (and acknowledged in the Burns documentary) no later than the spring of 1944 when Roosevelt was diagnosed with an enlarged heart and left ventricular failure. Doctors treated him for hypertensive heart disease.

Not covered in the documentary was doctors continuing to record further episodes of the president's abdominal pain.

Roosevelt ran for a fourth term hiding his significant health problems. A number of people who knew him well did not believe he would last another full term.

During the campaign, a letter to his wife and later recollection of his son James both recorded the president's continued bowel pains. He reported he had no interest in food because he could not taste it. By the time he died he probably weighed less than 150 pounds, a weight loss of at least 35 pounds during his last year.

After the election, people close to the president started noticing the president had periods of listlessness. The authors surmise that these were seizures caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain. This condition was noticed during the important Yalta Conference where Roosevelt met with Churchill and Stalin to make postwar plans. Many people have concluded that being sick, Roosevelt gave up too much to Stalin.

Roosevelt was exhibiting signs of a brain tumor. Perhaps the greatest proof of this was Roosevelt's speech to Congress upon his return from the Soviet Union. Burns documentary mentions the speech and notes that it was one of the few times that Roosevelt publicly referred to his polio condition. Burns did not mention that the speech was a disaster. Roosevelt could not stay on script. He took off on tangents and lost his place in the text, botching many of the words. Reviewing copies of the original speech document, Lomazow and Fettmann noticed a pattern - the parts of the speech where Roosevelt made errors were all on the left side of the page. The president was unable to see the left side of each line of his speech. This is called left hemisanopia, a condition affecting the right posterior portion of the brain that can be caused by brain tumors.

On April 12, 1945, Roosevelt suffered a massive brain hemorrhage and died a few hours later. When the embalmers came to prepare the body, they noticed the stomach was unnaturally distended. There was no autopsy.

Roosevelt's medical records have disappeared. Even when his wife Eleanor requested them 10 years later, she was told they could not be found.

Why did this cover-up happen? Roosevelt considered himself indispensable in a world at war, and many historians would agree. Had Roosevelt's true condition been known to the public, there is no way he would have been re-elected in 1940, much less 1944.  After his death there was less reason to hide the truth, except for the fact that it would detract from the heroic myth of FDR, the patron saint of the Democrat Party.

When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.

Atlas Shrugged and Jesus Wept

Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged has been referred to as the most influential book of the 20th Century. It was written in 1957 and barely broke into the Publishers Weekly Top Ten for that year. Nearly 60 years later the other nine books on the list have faded in popularity, but not Atlas Shrugged. Ever heard of the #1 book of 1957, By Love Possessed by James Gould Cozzens? In 2015 a Google search yields about 11,000 matches. Meanwhile, #10 Atlas Shrugged — has over 1.8 million Google results, not bad for a 1,200 page tome with no wizards or magic.

So who reads and is influenced by Atlas Shrugged? Not big government liberals. Rand, who lived in Russia during the early years of its communist era, deftly describes the inherent ineptitude that accompanies a centrally controlled economy. She wrote Atlas Shrugged in the 1950's at the beginning of the Cold War and described an America on the road to socialism. In the ensuing decades, government control of various aspects of the economy has only increased so the modern reader sees much more of the impact of government interference in the economy than the 1950's reader. Liberals don’t burn books, but they make sure that books that promote anti-liberal ideas don’t get the exposure that liberal books do in liberal venues like college campuses and left leaning media. If a liberal has a copy of Atlas Shrugged on his or her bookshelf, it is not there because he or she agrees with its message.

The audience attracted to Atlas Shrugged is the one disillusioned with liberalism; which includes conservatives. But the attack on government incompetence is only part of the message of Atlas Shrugged. Rand’s central theme is that people need to be more selfish: America can only achieve greatness if people embrace selfishness. In John Galt’s lengthy radio address, Rand expounds on the rational reasons why self-interest should trump all other values, and then attacks the curious combination of religion and socialism, strange twins rarely seen together in America.

John Galt’s speech is long and ponderous and many an Atlas Shrugged reader has skipped over this yawn-inducing section of the book. Ayn Rand took two years to write just this part of her book and it feels like two years to slog through it.

I will not argue whether Ayn Rand was a genius, nor will I argue whether Atlas Shrugged is a book worth reading. I will argue, however, against her championing of self-interest and disparaging religion. Those who follow and promote such a philosophy will end up as unhappy and diminished as she ended up. Ayn Rand rejected conservatives as much as liberals. Her Objectivism, based on reason and atheism, is the philosophy she promotes. Anyone who reads Atlas Shrugged is getting a broken, anti-God message.

In Atlas Shrugged and Jesus Wept, I present a defense of the Judeo-Christian world view that Rand criticized.  Think of Atlas Shrugged meets It's a Wonderful Life. The reader, who has not read Atlas Shrugged, can read Atlas Shrugged and Jesus Wept and, through the eyes of a rookie angel named George and his mentor angel Clarence, learn the story of Dagny Taggart and John Galt. George decides his intervention can influence Dagny and the other followers of John Galt to turn from selfishness to self-sacrifice, just as an intervention worked for him when he was alive.  Can Taggart and Galt choose faith over reason?

For those familiar with John Galt’s speech, you will notice that George’s version in Chapter Sixteen is a section-by-section rebuttal where Rand’s words are turned from an attack on Christianity to a defense of Christianity.  The section of the book in Chapter Eighteen pays homage to another writer, which you will easily recognize.  And for those with a sharp eye, you will see at least one “Easter Egg” in each chapter.  See if you can figure out what it is.

Atlas Shrugged and Jesus Wept is available through Amazon, iTunes, or Lulu.

Sharia Law and Gay-ria Law

Recent events in Indiana and Arkansas show that we are getting closer to a version of Sharia law, except this time it will be Gay-ria law.

In many Muslim countries everyone is forced to follow Islamic Sharia laws, even if you are not Muslim. This was horrifically highlighted in Sudan last year where Mariam Yahya Ibrahim was in prison for a while for having converted from Islam to Christianity. She would have been executed for this crime after she had weaned her new infant if it hadn't been for an international uproar started by Christians.

Nigerian Muhammed Momen, who was raised to be an Islamic cleric, spent more than 10 years in an Egyptian prison after converting to Christianity. (See How Muhammad Became a Christian).

Sharia Law is clear. To convert from Islam to Christianity is punishable by death. You're lucky to get away with a major prison sentence. The situation is also bad for groups that have always been Christians for generations. Under Sharia Law they are treated as second class citizens. Their churches are frequently destroyed and they are often only allowed to work in the most menial of jobs.

Here in America we have the protection of the First Amendment which should give everyone freedom of religion. However, we are in the early stages of Gay-ria Law which somehow supersedes anyone's First Amendment rights.

In Colorado, Masterpiece Bake Shop owner Jack Phillips declined to provide a wedding cake for a same-sex couple. He claimed it was not compatible with his Christian beliefs. He has been sentenced by the courts to undergo sensitivity training. Phillips appealed the ruling but he lost the appeal and has been ordered to honor any requests for wedding cakes from same-sex couples (same-sex marriage was illegal in Colorado at the time). He will have to report if he turns any gay customers away. Mr. Phillips is being denied his right to express his religious beliefs. Note that Mr. Phillips has not been charged with not selling his baked goods to customers with same gender attraction. His objections was being publicly seen as supporting a type of marriage he does not believe in.

In New Mexico, photographers Elaine and Jonathan Huguegin declined to take pictures for a lesbian couple's wedding ceremony based on their religious beliefs. They were taken to court and lost the case before the New Mexico Supreme Court. Justice Richard Bosson wrote:

"The Huguenins are free to think, to say, to believe, as they wish; they may pray to the God of their choice and follow those commandments in their personal lives wherever they lead. The Constitution protects the Hugenins in that respect and much more. But there is a price, one that we all have to pay somewhere in civic life.

"In the smaller, more focused world of the marketplace, of commerce, of public accommodation, the Hugenins have to channel their conduct . . . it is the price of citizenship."

In Salt Lake City, a police officer with strong Christian beliefs was assigned to ride his motorcycle out front of the Gay Pride Parade to clear the road. He felt this high profile assignment would make it appear that he was riding in support of the parade. He asked to work a lower-profile assignment like he did in previous years, but was refused with the Police Department stating it would not put up with bigotry. (Despite Utah's reputation as a conservative state, Salt Lake City government has been run by liberal Democrats for years.) Perhaps sensing he was left with a target on his career, the policy officer has since resigned.

In other words, a Christian baker, or Christian photographer, or Christian policeman can't practice their beliefs in their work life. Gay-ria Law trumps the First Amendment.

To see how wrongheaded this trend is consider the following example: What if the Westboro Baptist Church (a hateful anti-gay organization) asked a gay baker or photographer to provide services at a wedding at their church? The baker/photographer should have a right to decline such a business request because it goes against their values.

Gay activists tell us that all they are seeking is greater tolerance and diversity. These legal actions and others show that they are really looking for acceptance and adoption of their values which others do not agree with.

This is hardly tolerance.

This is hardly diversity.

Welcome to the age of Gay-ria Law, American's version of Sharia Law.
