Is Carson the Next Huckabee/Santorum?

In the latest polls Ben Carson is on top, especially in Iowa. He is the clear choice of the value voters of which I am one.

Unfortunately, the choice of the value voters have not done well lately. In 2008 dark horse, shoestring candidate Mike Huckabee handily beat John McCain in the Iowa Caucus, but still lost the nomination to McCain. In 2012 dark horse, shoestring candidate Rick Santorum beat Mitt Romney in the Iowas Caucus, but still lost the nomination to Romney.

What is with the value voter candidates who can start the race fast, but not maintain the lead? Does Carson have something that Huckabee and Santorum lacked?

I say yes.

Huckabee was by far the best debater in 2008. That is how he rose to prominence from way back in the pack. What he did not have was money. After McCain recovered in liberal New Hampshire, Huckabee did not have the money to compete in the states where ad dollars made the difference.

Carson will not have this problem. He has been much more effective in raising money. In the third quarter he raised more money than any other candidate and only Ted Cruz has more cash on hand.

In 2012 Santorum not only had a money problem, he had a resume problem. He was trounced in his final race for Senate. People want to back a winner and losing a reelection by a landslide in your own state tells a story that is hard to gloss over.

Carson has never held office and in the current environment that is a good thing. People want a leader who will not play the political games of professional politicians. That is why the value voters are backing Carson and why this time around Huckabee and Santorum, despite having experience and past success, are going nowhere.

Some Tea Party types, of which I am one, don't think Carson is as conservative as Ted Cruz. That may be true, but if Hillary Clinton could pick a candidate to run against it would be Senator Cruz. She thinks she could paint him as the 21st century Barry Goldwater. She would hate to run against Ben Carson. The contrast of Clinton's sleaze against Carson's character would be obvious to all undecided voters. Carson is living proof that falling for the Democrat created welfare system is not the way to get out of poverty.

The mainstream media is trying to trip up Dr. Carson. They think some of the things he has said are not presidential, such as his comments about not being able to support a Muslim for president. They are not mainstream presidential. If you want that, you want Obama and Clinton.

I am hoping that Carson will win decisively in Iowa and finish respectfully in New Hampshire. I think he could win South Carolina and finish near the top in Florida. If he also wins in Nevada, he could make a good run through the Southern states. Carson has an excellent chance of earning the Republican nomination.  Cross your fingers and say a prayer.

America deserves a mulligan on its election of the first black president. Technically, Barack Obama was only half black. Ben Carson can still be the first real black president of the United States.

The 10 Commandments for Liberal Secularists

Earlier this month the courts ordered the removal of a monument of the Ten Commandment on the Oklahoma Capitol grounds. This is just the latest action of secularists to remove religious speech from the public forum. I guess the contents of the Ten Commandments are just too horrifying to read outside of a church or one's home.

Secularists have a horribly weak understanding of history. The Ten Commandments were considered important and inspiring by America's founding fathers. The successful creation and perpetuation of the American success story is based on a Judeo-Christian foundation. The Americans who created our country took the Bible and it's teaching seriously and America has benefited from this.

Contrast the American Revolution to those revolutions based on secular values such as the French Revolution in 1789, the Russian Revolution in 1917 and the Chinese Revolution in 1949. Secularism does not have a great track record for societies. Horrors perpetuated by secularists in Nazi Germany and Cambodia also were ruinous.

Modern secularists may not have the same evil intentions of their ideological forebearers. But replacing traditional Christian values with their liberal secularist values is not good for society. They demand removal of the Ten Commandments from the public, but they have their own commandments that they follow and do all they can to promote.

The Ten Commandments for Liberal Secularists

1 There is no Lord thy God. Thou shalt have no God before you.

2 Thou shalt worship any graven image that makes you feel good, such as nice cars, clothes, sport teams, celebrities, progressive organizations, etc. Thou shalt bow down to them, and serve them.

3 Thou shalt take the name of the Lord God in vain; for the Lord is just a made-up fable to suppress a libertine lifestyle and people that don't swear are just goodie-two-shoes.

4 Forget the Sabbath day and keeping it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the day of the NFL thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates. And Superbowl Sunday is the nation's high holy day.

5 Honor thy government and the entitlements that emit therefrom: that thy days may be long upon the dole.

6 Thou shalt not kill anyone convicted of murder, or animals or anything like unto it. Thou shalt kill unborn babies since they are inconvenient to a modern lifestyle.

7 Thou shalt commit adultery, fornication, sodomy, or anything else that feels good, as long as you don't hurt anyone.

8 Thou shalt not steal. Let the government do it for you and then get the money from them.

9 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor, unless it is for the greater good of society in general so there is nothing wrong in saying, ¨“If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what.”

10 Thou shalt covet the One-Percent's house, thou shalt covet the One-Percent's wife, and his manservant, and his maidservant, and his ox, and his assets, and any thing that is from a One-Percenter.

Redford's Truth - A Fantasy Movie for Liberals

Cue the deep voice movie trailer announcer:

In a world where facts don't mater.

In a world where conservatives are dumb and evil.

In a world where journalists can break ethical standards to publicize forged documents.

Forget Cinderella.

Forget Pan.

Robert Redford stars in the feel good liberal fantasy of the year.

"Truth"

The movie that is anything but.

So what if CBS is refusing to run ads for this Rathergate movie? Why watch CBS when you can watch MSNBC?

Sure to be a hit among old white progressives with faulty memories, 79 year old heartthrob Robert Redford stars as Dan Rather, who bravely fights against unbiased journalistic ethics to air a fraudulent hack job on President George W. Bush's National Guard service.

You want the truth?

You can't handle the truth!

History as you've never seen it before!

"Truth"

Because if we called it "More Liberal Lies" our target audiences would stay home and watch Rachel Maddow.

Rated R for Rabid, Radical, Ridiculous Revisions.

#demdebate Hillary's Opponents Don't Want To Win

From the way Hillary Clinton's opponents performed at the CNN debate, it is clear that none of them really want to win the Democrat nomination for president.

Hillary Clinton is a flawed candidate, tainted by one scandal after another, with a resume bereft of accomplishment, and a reputation for flip-flopping, lying, pandering, and influence peddling. Her campaign have generated little enthusiasm and her negatives have only increased the more she campaigns. She can't stand on her record, character, or qualifications. Despite her numerous vulnerabilities, none of the other Democrat candidates were interested in sending her packing.

Why such a weak performance? What are these guys really running for if not for president?

  1. Bernie Sanders sole objective is to pull Hillary to the far left. If he really wanted to win, he would not have dismissed Hillary's email problems. The Bern would love to be Hillary's Secretary of the Treasury where he could really sock it to the one-percenters.
  2. Martin O'Malley wants to be Vice President
  3. Jim Webb wants to be Secretary of Defense.
  4. Lincoln Chafee wants to be Secretary of Metric System.
The Dems are all in for Hillary. If Republicans can't beat such an incompetent candidate, the damages inflicted by Obama on our country will get even worse.

Nonreligious Reject Random Unaided Evolution

It seems that despite decades of school indoctrination, even a significant number of non-religious people reject random unaided evolution.

Turns out 46% of non-religious people agree with the statement "Since the universe has organization, I think there is a creator who designed it." 40% disagreed and 14% were unsure.

When asked about a second statement, "The fact that we exist means someone created us," was agreed to by 43% of non-religious people while 48% disagreed and 9% were unsure.

These results were based on a survey of 1,000 people by LifeWay Research.

The New Atheist evangelicals like Richard Dawkins must be weeping and gnashing their teeth. They've managed to exercise God from the schools and falsely discount the science of intelligent design as relabeled creationism. Yet with complete control of the school systems they can't even get 50% of the Nones to believe their random unaided evolution doctrine.

That must be why they don't want to debate intelligent design. Even without the debate, they can't win the argument.

I think humans are presupposed to believe in a creator, even when they are not religious.

I have more than a passing interest in the debate between evolution an intelligent design. Here in conservative Utah an attempt by a conservative legislator to introduce intelligent design in the schools was shot down by the public school cardinalate. If you couldn't discuss the arguments for a Designer here, than where?

Around the same time I watched the 1960's movie Inherit the Wind, the courtroom drama based on the Scopes Monkey Trial where a teacher was prosecuted for teaching evolution to students in the 1920s. I thought, the world has turned 180 degrees. In the 21st Century a teacher could get in trouble for teaching Intelligent Design. I realized you could redo the original play section by section with basically the same characters and tell a challenging and compelling story of Intelligent Design on trial.

It sounded like a fun project, so that is what I did. I wrote a new play called Inherit the Wind: Overturned by Design (see link at upper right). This time, instead of basing the over-the-hill politician turned prosecutor on William Jennings Bryant, he looks a lot like Al Gore. Instead of Clarence Darrow, the feisty defense attorney is based on Ann Coulter. It's conservatives debating liberals, intelligent design vs evolution. It shares the message that intelligent design should be taken seriously, and not dismissed without any debate.

My goal is to see this play produced to help advance the intelligent design argument. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

The play is available for Nook, iBook on iTunes, or Amazon.

The 3 Reasons McCarthy is Out

Majority Leader McCarthy surprised everyone by dropping out of consideration for Speaker of the House.

I see three reasons why this happened.

  1. There were 40+ conservative who would not give McCarthy the votes he needed to get the 218 majority.
  2. McCarthy has proven to be tongue tied in numerous statements. In our modern age of soundbites, you can't have a political leader who lives with his foot in his mouth.
  3. Rumors of infidelity raised a concern by North Carolina representative Walter Jones to demand candidates be vetted for anything embarrassing. When Next Gingrich resigned, his handpicked successor Bob Livingston had to withdraw because he was going to outed for adultery. Too the dismay of some Republicans, there is still a significant segment of conservatives who expect their leaders to set an example in their private lives.
Finding a new Speaker should not be that hard. The current system is broken and the status quo leadership has been ineffective.

In the 1930's the conservatives in England had poor leadership. Only when the party shook things up and put Winston Churchill in charge did they finally get things done.

2015: The Year of Killing Christians

ISIS has spent the better part of the year killing Christians in Libya, Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq.

Boko Haram has been killing Christians in Nigeria.

Earlier this year a crazed gunman went to a church in Charleston, South Carolina and killed nine Christians at a prayer service.

Now early reports from the Umpqua Community College shooting reveals the shooter was specifically killing Christians.

2015 is turning out to be the year of killing Christians throughout the world and even here in America.

We don't have a gun problem as President Obama erroneously believes. We have a terror attacks on  Christians problem.
